Alongside the progress in completing infrastructure, installing systems, equipment and advanced technologies, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is placing a strong focus on workforce preparation for the takeover and operation of Long Thanh International Airport. With an integrated approach that combines modern infrastructure with a highly qualified workforce, ACV is prioritizing the standardization of employees’ professional expertise and competencies under the guiding principle: “Strong Expertise – Standardized Competence – Ready to Operate Long Thanh.”

Newly recruited personnel are equipped with professional knowledge and aviation regulatory expertise to meet operational requirements at Long Thanh International Airport.
Meeting the Specific Requirements of Airport Operations
Airport operations are characterized by stringent requirements for safety, security, regulatory compliance and the ability to maintain continuous and coordinated operations. Given the scale and advanced nature of Long Thanh International Airport, workforce preparation requires not only professional competence for each individual position but also the ability of personnel to coordinate effectively and operate within an integrated airport system.
Accordingly, the workforce being prepared for Long Thanh International Airport is receiving comprehensive training, covering professional knowledge, aviation regulations, operational procedures, incident and contingency handling, as well as interdepartmental coordination. Employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to effectively operate the airport’s advanced systems, equipment and technologies, while gaining a thorough understanding of operational processes and the interconnections among different stages across the airport’s entire operating chain.
This approach is essential to translating the principle of “Strong Expertise” into practical capabilities, ensuring that personnel are not only able to perform their assigned responsibilities accurately, but also coordinate effectively within a highly integrated operational environment.
Compliance with Regulations and International Standards
To ensure workforce quality, ACV’s training programs are developed and delivered in compliance with Vietnam’s aviation regulations, including Circular No. 52/2026/TT-BXD dated June 30, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Construction, providing guidance on airports and aerodromes, as well as other relevant specialized regulations.
For areas requiring professional certification and compliance with international standards, ACV organizes training in accordance with applicable industry requirements. In particular, for Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), training programs are conducted in accordance with the regulations and standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The integration of Vietnam’s regulatory requirements with international standards and practices helps develop a workforce that is well-versed in domestic regulations while meeting professional requirements in a modern aviation environment. This represents an important step toward establishing “Standardized Competence” across the workforce that will operate Long Thanh International Airport.
Training Closely Aligned with Operational Practice
ACV places strong emphasis on both the professional content and delivery methods of workforce training for Long Thanh International Airport. Drawing on practical operational experience across its airport network, ACV has assigned Tan Son Nhat International Airport to organize training for the new workforce, under the direction, guidance and supervision of ACV’s specialized departments.

Training programs go beyond theoretical knowledge, with a strong focus on analyzing and handling practical operational scenarios.
The training and instructional team comprises experienced managers, specialists and aviation professionals with extensive experience in the management and operation of major airports, including personnel trained and certified under IATA’s international industry standards. Their practical expertise provides an important foundation for incorporating real-world operational experience into training programs and connecting professional knowledge with actual workplace requirements.
The programs are designed not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to emphasize the analysis and handling of practical operational scenarios. Through simulations, professional discussions and case-based exercises, trainees develop the ability to identify operational issues, determine appropriate courses of action and coordinate with relevant departments in accordance with established procedures.
Assessment and evaluation are conducted throughout the training process. Classroom observation, monitoring of teaching quality and evaluation of learning outcomes enable ACV to make timely adjustments to training content and methodologies while maintaining effective quality control over workforce readiness.
The objective of ACV’s workforce preparation is not simply to ensure sufficient personnel when Long Thanh International Airport enters operation, but, more importantly, to build a team with the knowledge, skills and coordination capabilities required to ensure the Airport is safe, integrated and efficient from day one. This workforce will be equipped to meet the service requirements of passengers, airlines and partners, while contributing to the effective integration of Long Thanh International Airport into Vietnam’s national airport network.
