On January 16, 2026, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Cargo Terminal Project at Danang International Airport. This is a key infrastructure project aimed at resolving the state of overloading and modernizing cargo transport capacity, contributing to the promotion of socio-economic development for Da Nang City and the Central Highlands region. With ACV serving as the solely investor, the project has a total investment capital of 631 billion VND, utilizing 100% of the Corporation's development capital. The facility is being built on an area of over 2.4 hectares, consisting of a main terminal with three floors and one mezzanine, designed for a capacity of 100,000 tons of cargo per year. The project is expected to be deployed for construction over 12 months with a synchronous infrastructure system, including auxiliary works and a modern environmental treatment system that meets international aviation standards. Beyond being a Grade II traffic work, the new Cargo Terminal is identified as a crucial link in realizing the goal of making Da Nang a logistics center connecting the Central Key Economic Region and the East-West Economic Corridor.
