On April 28–29, 2026, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) convened a working session on “Managing and Maintaining Operational Safety Conditions in Airport Operations and Ground Handling.” The event aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen awareness in hazard identification and risk prevention, and update participants on international standards.
The working session brought together representatives from functional departments and specialized personnel across the entire airport system. It was conducted in a hybrid format, with in-person sessions at ACV Headquarters complemented by virtual connections to airports nationwide.

Overview of the working session
The event provided a platform for units to exchange practical scenarios and lessons learned in handling airport incidents. ACV strongly encouraged all units to proactively report safety-related issues. Key discussions focused on critical runway safety topics, including wildlife hazard management (birds and other animals), response strategies for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and risk control measures in technical flight operations.
Beyond case-based solutions, the working session also reviewed and updated advanced management models and standards. Particular attention was given to evaluating the effectiveness of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) model and outlining its forthcoming implementation roadmap. At the same time, airports are accelerating the adoption of modern technologies to align with global aviation industry trends.
To standardize operational procedures, participants exchanged approaches for consistently applying the latest international standards from ICAO and IATA in real-world operations. The implementation of the ISAGO standards system was also emphasized as a key driver in ensuring optimal safety performance and service quality in ground handling operations.
Through in-depth discussions, the workshop aimed to consolidate insights and propose concrete solutions and initiatives to enhance safety management efficiency, ultimately contributing to incident reduction and elevating operational safety standards across ACV’s entire airport network.
