Effective July 21, 2025, passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air departing from Cam Ranh International Airport can complete procedures for domestic flights using the facial recognition (Face ID) feature integrated into the VNeID application.

Instead of presenting physical identification documents as previously required, passengers can now use their biometric data to authenticate their identity at each step of the process. This contributes to simplifying procedures, saving time, and enhancing the travel experience.

To use VNeID during the check-in process, passengers should follow these three steps:

Step 1: At Check-in Open the VNeID app on your personal phone → Select "Aviation Procedures" → Follow the on-screen instructions → Proceed to the security screening area.

Alternatively, passengers can register for facial recognition at the check-in counters:

• Counters 19 and 23 for Vietnam Airlines passengers
• Counters 38 and 40 for Vietjet Air passengers
• Counter 44 for Bamboo Airways passengers

Step 2: At the Security Checkpoint (in Passenger Terminal T1), proceed to the biometric-equipped security lane. Stand in the designated position and look directly at the camera for authentication. After the system successfully authenticates your identity and the gate opens, you may proceed to the security screening area.

Step 3: At the Boarding Gate Undergo facial recognition authentication again. The gate will open automatically, allowing you to board without needing to scan any documents or interact with staff.

Recommendations for Passengers:

• Ensure your VNeID electronic identification account is updated to Level 2 and that you are using the latest version of the application. (This applies only to passengers aged 14 and above).
• Install and update to the latest mobile application version of Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air to facilitate rapid information confirmation.
• Carry valid physical identification documents (e.g., Citizen ID card, passport) as a backup in case of technical issues with the biometric system.
