In response to rising travel demand during the 2026 summer peak period, Con Dao Airport has proactively implemented a range of measures to ensure safe, stable and efficient operations, while further improving service quality and the overall passenger experience.
Based on tourism growth trends and airline flight schedules, passenger throughput during the entire summer peak period in 2026 is forecast to increase by around 15% compared with current operating levels, reaching an estimated 222,540 passengers and 3,586 aircraft movements.
From 1 May to 23 June 2026, Con Dao Airport handled 1,830 aircraft movements and served 113,583 passengers. On average, the airport accommodated approximately 33.89 aircraft movements and 2,104 passengers per day.
To meet operational requirements, Con Dao Airport has arranged personnel in line with airline schedules and actual passenger flows at the terminal. Additional staff have been deployed to key service areas, including public halls, check-in counters, security screening checkpoints, boarding gates, passenger lounges and baggage claim areas.

During the 2026 summer peak, Con Dao Airport has continued to coordinate with relevant units to deploy biometric passenger authentication technology across passenger service processes. The use of biometric technology helps shorten processing times, reduce waiting times, improve passenger identification accuracy, strengthen aviation security and safety, and enhance the passenger experience.

Aviation safety remains a top priority for the airport. Regular inspections and monitoring are maintained at aircraft parking stands, runways, taxiways and restricted areas in order to promptly identify, assess and address potential safety risks. The airport has also strengthened coordination among aviation security forces, ground handling units, technical teams, the airport authority and airlines to ensure smooth, safe and efficient operations.
In addition, Con Dao Airport regularly conducts training sessions, drills and exercises to improve the response capacity of on-site forces. Key activities include occupational safety and hygiene training, first-aid training, incident response drills, emergency exercises, oil spill response drills and simulations of abnormal situations that may arise during operations. Through these activities, airport staff are able to enhance their situational handling skills, coordination capacity and awareness of safety procedures.

Fire prevention and fighting measures have also been reinforced. Firefighting forces remain on standby, with vehicles and equipment maintained in good operating condition. The airport also carries out periodic inspections of electrical systems, firefighting equipment and areas with potential fire or explosion risks.
