On the afternoon of June 1, 2026, Da Nang International Airport held a working session with representatives of DHL to discuss the future development of air cargo logistics and explore potential cooperation opportunities once the airport’s new cargo terminal becomes operational.

Overview of the meeting
During the meeting, representatives of Da Nang International Airport provided an overview of the New Cargo Terminal Project, which is currently under construction. The facility is designed to handle up to 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually, with a total investment of more than VND 631 billion (~USD 24 million) and a planned site area exceeding 2.4 hectares.
The project comprises a modern cargo terminal featuring three main floors and a mezzanine level, supported by comprehensive infrastructure and advanced cargo-handling systems. Upon completion, the facility is expected to significantly enhance cargo processing capacity and meet the rapidly growing demand for air freight services across the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Trung, Deputy Director of Da Nang International Airport, chaired the meeting.

Representatives of DHL shared their perspectives during the discussion.
As part of the working session, both parties exchanged views on current air cargo demand, operational challenges facing the logistics sector, and opportunities to strengthen supply chain connectivity. Discussions also focused on identifying practical solutions to improve cargo handling efficiency and support the long-term development of regional logistics networks.
DHL representatives expressed strong interest in the development potential of the new cargo terminal and highlighted its strategic role in supporting future air cargo growth in Central Vietnam. The company also conveyed its desire to explore cooperation opportunities in cargo transportation, terminal operations, and logistics services once the project is completed and put into operation.
The meeting marked an important step in strengthening cooperation between Da Nang International Airport and leading international logistics providers. It also reflects the airport’s commitment to maximizing the effectiveness of its new cargo infrastructure and advancing its ambition of becoming a key aviation logistics hub for Central Vietnam.
As cargo demand continues to grow alongside the region’s expanding economy, the new cargo terminal is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing supply chain efficiency, attracting global logistics partners, and reinforcing Da Nang’s position as an important gateway for international trade and commerce.
