Starting from July 15, 2025, passengers can complete flight procedures without paper documents at Da Nang International Airport by using Face ID authentication on the VNeID application.

Accordingly, from 4:00 PM on July 15, 2025, passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air on domestic flights from Da Nang International Airport can use biometrics on the VNeID platform to complete airline procedures, replacing the need to present physical documents as before.

To use VNeID during the check-in process, passengers should follow these three steps:

1. Check-in Process:

• Open the VNeID application on your personal phone.
• Select Other Services → Air Travel Procedures → Online Check-in and follow the on-screen instructions.
• After completing online check-in, passengers may proceed to the security screening area.
• Passengers can also check-in and register their facial data at Counters 05, 06, and 28.

2. At the Security Checkpoint:

• Proceed to the security area equipped with a biometric system (located at Lane 3 - Passenger Terminal T1).
• Stand on the marked footprint position and look directly at the camera screen for the system to perform facial recognition.
• After the system successfully authenticates and opens the gate, passengers may proceed to the security screening area.

3. At the Boarding Gate:

• At the boarding gate, passengers will perform a similar action: stand in the designated position and look at the camera for the system to recognize you.
• After a successful authentication, the gate will open automatically, and passengers can board the aircraft without contact with staff.

Recommendations for Passengers:

To ensure a smooth check-in process using VNeID, passengers are kindly requested to:

• Upgrade to a Level 2 VNeID electronic identification account and ensure you are using the latest version of the application. (This applies only to passengers aged 14 and older).
• Download and update to the latest mobile application version for Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air to support faster information confirmation.
• Carry valid personal identification (such as a Citizen ID card, passport, etc.) as a backup in case the biometric system encounters technical issues.

In the near future, Da Nang International Airport will continue to cooperate closely with relevant parties to expand the application of biometric technology while optimizing the system to meet the increasing travel demands of passengers. This is part of a long-term strategy to build a smart, modern airport that delivers a seamless, safe, and convenient travel experience.

Da Nang International Airport cordially invites domestic passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air to experience this new check-in method, contributing to the national digital transformation journey in the aviation sector.
