It has been six months since Skytrax announced its 2026 airport rankings in March, when Da Nang International Airport (DAD) was ranked 75th among the World’s Top 100 Airports and continued to be listed among the Top 10 Airports in Asia. Since then, the airport has remained committed to enhancing service quality, upgrading infrastructure, and elevating the passenger experience.

Among the airport’s key infrastructure projects are the Renovation and Expansion of Terminal T1 and the Expansion of the Aircraft Apron – Phase 1, with a total investment of more than VND 10 trillion. These projects aim to increase the airport’s designed capacity to 14 million passengers per year.
As of September 2026, Da Nang International Airport had served more than 13 million passengers, including 7.4 million domestic passengers and 5.6 million international passengers, with more than 76,000 domestic and international flights.
The final three months of the year are expected to be a peak period, requiring the airport to proactively manage operations, coordinate activities, and serve passengers while maximizing the efficiency of its existing infrastructure. This also reinforces the need for continued investment, upgrades, and capacity expansion to meet growing demand in the years ahead.

Alongside infrastructure investment, Da Nang International Airport is accelerating digital transformation and the adoption of advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and the passenger experience.
One notable advancement is the introduction of a priority boarding lane for passengers using biometric authentication via VNeID. The solution helps shorten processing times, reduce pressure at manual screening areas, minimize congestion, and improve overall terminal efficiency, particularly during peak hours.

In the final three months of 2026, Da Nang International Airport will enter a period of acceleration, focusing on completing its established objectives. The airport will continue to review and enhance service quality throughout the passenger journey, while further improving its facilities, landscape, and service standards in line with international benchmarks.
This important final phase will lay the foundation for the airport to work toward its goal of achieving a 4-Star Airport rating and improving its Skytrax ranking in 2027 and beyond.
