From 27 January to 01 February 2026, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) participated in a tourism promotion and air route development program held in Seoul and Busan, Republic of Korea. The program was jointly organized by the People’s Committee of Hue City and the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province with the objective of promoting Hue as a destination and facilitating the launch of direct air services between Incheon – Hue and Busan – Hue.

The events welcomed the participation of the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea, the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Busan, the Secretary General of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO), leadership of the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA), representatives of Korean local authorities, ACV, Vietnam Airlines, Incheon International Airport, as well as aviation and tourism enterprises and media agencies from both countries. The principal sessions took place in Seoul on 29 January 2026 and in Busan on 31 January 2026.

As an invited participant, ACV reaffirmed its growing role within the national aviation and tourism ecosystem, particularly in the strategic promotion of new international air routes. In addition, as the operator and manager of 22 airports nationwide, ACV provides essential aviation infrastructure while serving as a strategic partner to local authorities, airlines, and businesses in strengthening destination connectivity, expanding route networks, and supporting sustainable tourism growth.

The construction project of Terminal T2 at Dong Hoi Airport, designed to serve 3 million domestic passengers per year, contributes to meeting growing transport demand and enhancing the overall quality of passenger services at the airport.

ACV’s participation conveyed a clear commitment to supporting Hue City and Quang Tri Province in their international aviation development strategy. It also underscored the operational readiness of Phu Bai International Airport in terms of infrastructure, technical capability, and service quality to accommodate new routes from South Korea, one of Viet Nam’s most significant international source markets.

During the program in Seoul and Busan, ACV presented an overview of its airport network and conducted a detailed assessment of the potential for the Seoul – Hue and Busan – Hue routes. The analysis was based on market data, travel trends among Korean visitors, and Hue’s competitive strengths as a heritage and cultural destination. The discussions highlighted infrastructure capacity, operational feasibility, and market demand, providing airlines and partners with a solid foundation to consider charter operations as a step toward regular commercial services.

Phu Bai International Airport’s Terminal T2, a modern facility inspired by Ngu Mountain and Hue’s imperial architectural heritage, meets contemporary international standards and is well positioned to serve key international routes.

Through its presentations and business engagement activities, ACV demonstrated a proactive, professional, and sustainability-oriented approach to route development. Its proposals and market insights received positive attention from airlines, tourism promotion organizations, and Korean enterprises, contributing to a shared understanding of the viability of charter flights and the progression toward scheduled commercial services between Incheon – Hue and Busan – Hue.

Representatives of the ACV delegation and Phu Bai International Airport presented commemorative gifts to partners attending the event.

The program established a strong foundation for continued collaboration among stakeholders, with the anticipated launch of direct Hue – South Korea services targeted for late March 2026.

In parallel with promotional efforts, ACV reaffirmed that its airports are being systematically upgraded and modernized to ensure sufficient aircraft handling capacity, high service standards, and safe, efficient operations for new international routes.
