Tho Xuan Airport has proactively developed a detailed operational plan, mobilizing maximum personnel, equipment, and vehicles to ensure absolute safety and enhance service quality during the 2026 Lunar New Year peak period.

The airport has extended its operations to 24 hours a day from 5 February to 2 March 2026 (corresponding to the 18th day of the 12th lunar month to the 14th day of the first lunar month). According to the projected flight schedule for the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) peak season, Tho Xuan Airport will handle a total of 732 flights operated by three airlines, including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways, with an average frequency of 28 flights per day. The busiest day is expected to reach 31 flights.

To prevent congestion and ensure a seamless passenger experience, the airport has implemented a range of synchronized measures. The 2025 terminal renovation project has been completed and brought into operation, upgrading the processing system with 14 check-in counters and three boarding gates. The check-in area, security screening zone, and outbound baggage conveyor system have been expanded. In addition, the airport has added one 96-seat passenger bus and 10 new baggage trolleys, while increasing staffing levels and operational equipment to meet peak demand.

Tho Xuan Airport has also strengthened coordination with relevant authorities, including the Airports Authority, Police, and Regiment 923, to enhance safety and security measures. These include intensified foreign object debris (FOD) inspections, laser control monitoring, and vegetation clearance in the airside area to prevent wildlife intrusion. Taxi operators are required to publicly display fares and refrain from soliciting passengers, while non-aviation service providers must strictly comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.

Daily coordination meetings are maintained to promptly address any issues related to aviation security, public order, operational safety, and emergency response on a 24/7 basis.
