On October 8, 2026, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) held the inaugural conference of its Market Development Network at the Corporation’s headquarters. The event marked an important milestone in ACV’s route development strategy, aiming to establish a coordinated network that fosters closer collaboration between the Corporation and its airports.
The conference was attended by ACV Board Members Mr. Le Van Khien and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong; leaders from the Business & Market Development Division; and market development representatives from ACV’s airports. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) was represented by Mr. Laurent Delarue, Director, Consulting & Certifications, and Ms. Sindy Liu, Manager, IATA Consulting.

Over the past 18 months, ACV has achieved positive results in market development, progressively expanding its domestic and international cooperation network. In particular, ACV has engaged with 10 foreign consulates, more than 70 airlines, and nearly 40 airports. It has also identified and promoted more than 40 potential new routes, nearly 30 of which have commenced operations. In addition, nearly 40 case studies on market development initiatives and route promotion have been developed, helping consolidate practical experience and improve the effectiveness of ACV’s route development efforts.
Building on these achievements, the establishment of the Market Development Network, with representatives from ACV’s airports, marks a significant step forward in the Corporation’s approach to market development. The initiative aims to strengthen information connectivity, facilitate knowledge sharing, and coordinate resources across the entire airport network.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of the Business & Market Development Department, presented ACV’s strategic orientations for market development across its affiliated airports for the 2025–2030 and 2030–2040 periods. Representatives of the Market Development Network from individual airports also contributed practical insights and recommendations to help refine the strategy, ensuring that it reflects the distinctive characteristics and growth potential of each airport’s market.

Discussions also focused on developing an effective market development network and clarifying the respective roles of ACV and its affiliated airports in engaging with airlines, local authorities, and other partners. Participants worked toward a common understanding of the network’s operating model, coordination procedures, reporting mechanisms, data-sharing arrangements, and priority tasks for the coming period.
A workshop featuring three regional discussion groups provided an opportunity for participants to exchange practical experience, identify potential market opportunities, and propose route development solutions tailored to the specific characteristics and needs of each airport market.

Alongside efforts to strengthen coordination mechanisms, ACV is placing emphasis on professional training and capacity building in market research and route network development. These initiatives are intended to progressively enhance the expertise of market development personnel across the airport network, equipping them to identify emerging opportunities, respond effectively to market dynamics, and engage more effectively with airline partners.
Through the establishment of the Market Development Network, ACV aims to build a proactive, coordinated, and effective approach to market development across its airport system. Under this model, the Corporation will provide strategic direction and facilitate system-wide coordination, while its affiliated airports leverage their local market knowledge and regional advantages. By combining centralized strategic guidance with local market expertise, ACV seeks to strengthen connectivity, unlock new route development opportunities, and support sustainable growth across Vietnam’s aviation network.
