Commencing on December 19, 2025, in conjunction with the inauguration of the Terminal 2 Passenger Terminal expansion project, Noi Bai International Airport (NIA) is progressively implementing the "Smart Airport" model.
Dong Nai, December 15, 2025 – Long Thanh International Airport (LTIA) has officially welcomed its first flight utilizing Vietnam's largest aircraft. This is the first civil aviation flight to land at LTIA, holding significant importance for the final evaluation of operational conditions in preparation for the official flight scheduled to land on December 19.
On 10 December 2025, Airports Corporation of Vietnam – JSC (ACV) held a working session with the “Hong Kong Infrastructure and Green Development Mission to Vietnam”, organized by the Belt and Road Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. The meeting formed part of a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in infrastructure development, green growth, and broader economic connectivity between Hong Kong and Vietnam.
On the morning of December 8, the Government submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to amend Resolution No. 94 regarding the investment policy for Long Thanh International Airport.
Noi Bai International Airport is set to inaugurate the expanded Passenger Terminal 2 (T2) on December 19, 2025, following more than 18 months of accelerated construction that commenced on May 19, 2024. The project represents a critical strategic investment aimed at mitigating capacity constraints and increasing the terminal’s design throughput from 10 million to 15 million passengers annually, marking a significant enhancement in the airport’s international handling capabilities.
